Tara has recently returned from Egypt and we asked her to tell us a bit about her experience there...
Egypt is famous for its ancient civilisation and It's also a top destination for some of the world's most famous sights and monuments and of course it's amazing array of sea life in the Red Sea. But with the current climate of the world and the political issues Egypt has faced over the past few years, Egypt is struggling massively without its tourism as many people think that it is not safe to travel to. After my recent trip to Egypt, I want to try and pursued you to go, not just in the future, but now.
This time of the year the weather in Devon can be quite grim and often gets people down. The weather in Egypt though often hits 30 degrees with a gentle breeze.
Currently prices to go to Egypt are incredibly low. It cost me less than £400 per person for a week all inclusive at a 5* hotel. When price is so important to all of us who would want to miss out on that bargain.
Due to many people shying away from Egypt as there choice and paying more money for the canaries the Red Sea resorts of Egypt are running on almost on 1/3 occupancy. This means that going to places like the pyramids and Luxor or on a boat trip out to Giftun Island you will be only one of the few lucky people on the excursion. There are hardly any crowds in the most busiest of attractions and you will almost feel like you are on your own private tour. There were 12 people on our boat trip, meaning there was far more space for us to spread out and we were given way more time snorkelling.
4. Customer Service
Due to the lack of fellow travellers you are treated like royalty. The Egyptian couldn't be more appreciative of us coming to their country and will do everything in their power to ensure we are enjoying ourselves.
Many people will laugh at this comment and side track it because of recent events but I can only be honest in telling you I have never felt safer. My last trip to Egypt was with my Mum and as two women we were slightly apprehensive. As soon as we arrived this completely disappeared. The safety at Hurghada airport was amazing. Triple checking everything and ensuring safe transit of all its passengers. We flew into their new airport which is much less crowded than before and a lot easier to navigate. Also when travelling in Egypt the check points from resort to resort are heavily armed for your safety and there are gated entrances to almost all of the hotels.
The Egyptian want you to see the country for its beauty and want you to experience Egypt to the full. Many excursion companies offer trips out to see a tradition Bedouin village, to go star gazing in the desert and to visit some of the old and new Wonders of the World. Egypt has so much more to offer you than some of the more westernised holiday destinations you can visit, so much more to offer you than what you can find in a guide book. From the Pyramids of Giza to the Temple of Karnak, awe inspiring history right at your finger tips. Go back in time wondering into the temple of Tutankhamen or climbing the stairs in a pyramid or relax on a river Nile cruise you will never forget.
So don’t let current world problems stop you from travelling to amazing places like Egypt. Make the most of the weather, price, space and customer service on offer and chose Egypt as your next destination. Tara.
